About me

Alexander Ramdass is a dedicated attorney-at-law with five years of experience specializing in civil litigation, environmental law, and legislative drafting. He holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Environmental, Energy, and Natural Resources Law from Lewis and Clark Law School and an LLM in Legislative Drafting from the University of the West Indies. His expertise lies in developing legal strategies, conducting high-impact research, and advancing social and environmental justice through litigation and policy reform.

Alexander’s professional journey reflects his passion for leveraging the law to create meaningful change. Currently, he practices as an attorney with Invictus Chambers in Trinidad and Tobago, focusing on civil litigation, complex land matters, and environmental law. His previous roles include serving as in-house counsel for Fishermen and Friends of the Sea, where he strategized and coordinated litigation on behalf of frontline fishery and quarry communities, and contributing as a research assistant at the Shridath Ramphal Research Centre, focusing on the intersection of trade and climate change.

His international experience includes working as an International Fellow at the Environmental Law Institute in Washington, D.C., where he collaborated on the 2024 edition of the UNEP Report on the Environmental Rule of Law. Alexander’s work has also supported civil society organizations across the Caribbean, including legislative reviews and climate change advocacy.
